The Writing Lives Story Project

 I know I am in the company of many when I say that the Wicks changed my life. I won the poetry scholarship as a junior; I traveled to Bisbee for the poetry festival; I saw my poem published; I attended the reunions; I met so many other wonderful poets; I am blessed.

It was through these rich experiences that I began to see myself as a writer, and how writing could be an instrument to my deeper appreciation for the events that guided me to write in the first place. Bob Dylan says that behind everything beautiful, there's been some kind of pain. This is true for my story, and the Wicks' generosity has allowed me to express that past pain; and through the program's wonderful leadership, I've yielded something beautiful.
