The Writing Lives Story Project

Hi all! Looking at all these names and dates is making me feel really, really old! I was a Wick Scholarship winner sometime in the 1980s. Like others, receiving a Wick Scholarship was about more than money -- it was validation of my sense of myself as a writer. That validation gave me the courage to "jump ship" from the business degree that I was pursuing and immerse myself in what I loved -- language. Then I had the honor of being the very first Wick Fellow in the late 1990s. At that time, the whole program seemed to be me, Maggie, and a couple of boxes of paperwork. I am thrilled to see how the program has grown. Currently, I am the Director of Writing at BGSU Firelands (a branch campus of Bowling Green located in Huron, Ohio). In that role, I coordinate the composition program and the Writing Lab services.
