My daughter, Jessica, is a writer and poet. And she was a Wick Fellow and one of the first grads of the MFA program. So I kind of tagged along with her to become a adjunct member of the Wick community. And it strikes me as a very special community of poets and writers who are creative and lyrical in their writing, caring and sharing of  their time and talents with other writers, and committed to "encouraging new voices."

I enjoyed getting to know Maggie and David and many others while I was a faculty member at Kent State -- teaching public relations and journalism. And I'm delighted that I have been able to maintain an association through the Wick Poetry Center blog, readings and other activities.

Congratulations to everyone associated with the Wick Poetry Center as you celebrate your 25th anniversary.
