The Writing Lives Story Project

I went to a vocational school where i had studied information technology. I came to the realization that i couldn't work behind a desk interacting with people via telephone and helping them fix their computers systematically. What I did find there was a great inspiration from my English teacher.

I have always had a great appreciation for poetry, and have written songs in my band. My teacher had unlocked those words that took me hours to find and days to revise. He helped me destory the barriers that held me back from true expression. He had introduced me into the wick poetry and into the helping hand of the students and teachers at Kent state.

Upon arrival at Kent I fell in love with the atmosphere. The cliche coffee cafee "beat" scene. I loved it. Unfortunatly i did not win any scholarship but became first honarable mention. And unfortunitly i did not attend Kent state. I drifted away in love with a significant other in which i had been with for five years. I didn't care about anything at that point. I lost intrest in music, in poetry, and in true expression.

Only a couple weeks after living in my runned down house made in the fourty's in the slums of Akron i was left by her. I found myself stranded and isolated from what i loved and scraficed to be here in this awful state. So i dropped my courses at Akron, moved out, and moved back to my mother's house.

But all of this has taught me a great lesson. One that is learned quick after an incident like this. Nothing will last forever, at least nothing that you cannot control. But my passions would never die. My true dreams, the ones i swept under the rug and pretended to be unimportant and far fetched. So i ripped all my college notes out of my notebook ,grabbed my guitar, and a pen then started writing. I saw/felt what i left behind.

As a result i began writing again and will soon be attened Kent state to help inspire kids to hold on to what they love more than life itself. I plan on continuing being active in Wick poetry soon enough.

Thanks for showing me the segway to a (hopefully) enlightned life.
